PROGRAMME AND ABSTRACTS VOLUME
Laser Ablation Workshop
A one-day workshop on laser ablation techniques will be held on Monday, 15th April 2019. This workshop will be aimed at postgraduate students and those new to laser ablation techniques and will cover topics including laser mapping, geochronology, data handling, Hf and other isotopic systems. The workshop will be supported by SciMed.
Provisional programme:
10-11: Introduction
11-12: Lab tours and instrumentation
12-1: Lunch
1-2: Intro to trace element and U-Th-Pb isotope measurements
2-3: Other isotopic systems by LA-ICP-MS and MC-ICP-MS (e.g. Pb, Hf, Nd)
3-4: Laser mapping
4-5: Data handling
Registration for the workshop will be at a subsidized fee of £10 (sponsored by SciMed). This will include lunch and refreshments.
The maximum number of attendees is 12. Delegates will be added to the list in order of expression of interest, so respond quickly!
Public Lecture
The workshop will be followed, on the same day, by an evening public outreach talk by Prof. Randy Parrish from 17.30-18.30. The title will be:
‘Searching for the environmental smoking gun of Gulf War Illness”

Ice-Breaker
The ice-breaker reception will take place from 18.30-19.30 and is open to all GGRiP delegates, including those who attend the Workshop.
GGRiP meeting
The main meeting will take place on 16 and 17th April. A registration fee of £60 (including VAT where appropriate) per delegate is required for the two day meeting. Online registration will open shortly. Registration has been extended to end March 2019.
